Victor Frankenstein
Ambition is his biggest vice, and his indulges leads the scientist to become just as dangerous as his monstrous creation. He is also too superficial, and his inability to percieve what is beyond just the looks of things results in disaster. He is undeniably brilliant, and his cleverness is the envy of his peers, but in reaching too far for things that must not be within man's grasp, he becomes the source of destruction to all the things he loves. His sins he may realize, though chances are it will be much too late.

Whether or not you view him as a monster is slightly more subjective.

Sam is being so mean! I'm sorry. I happen to think that Bela fits The Monster better than Victor because she's a victim of her circumstances too but Sam doesn't really *know* that

So as I said -- that's subjective.
[It's quite alright. Bela would expect anything less than nastiness from Sam. And she'd rather Sam snipe at her than find out why.]
