[ROTM] Ship of fools
OOC: Set post-this thread and then this thread in
shakeitup_pf. The Xander in question is
nomorebuttmnky.
She hated karma.
Karma was a large, big, fat pain in the ass, and she really was going to have to watch what happened to her in Roanoke, because apparently whoever was pulling the strings was rather fond of it. Apparently, stumble upon a naked man in the middle of town square, and you wind up naked in the same square yourself, in front of said previously naked man. It was embarrassing and awkward, and she was caught completely off guard and that was the one thing she hated more than anything. She hated losing control like that.
But, granted it could have been worse. She could have been caught with nothing but a shower curtain, and the person who found her could have been Dean. She would have never lived that down, not in a million years.
Xander was at least sweet about it. Gave her his shirt, and didn’t rub it in her face much. He even walked her back to her place. It was almost—normal. It was as close to normal as she’s gotten in a while, and—she wasn’t quite sure how she felt about it. Things were complicated. But not her normal brand of complicated. She was used to her relationships being quick and messy. She had a feeling things with Xander wouldn’t even be remotely close to that. It would be a real relationship—boyfriend and girlfriend, going on dates, exclusivity—
She glanced over at the shirt hanging in her closet, and bit her lip, before pushing the thoughts out of her head. Bela Talbot didn’t do exclusive relationships. And besides, he didn’t even know her real name. The kiss on the cheek she gave him, while a bit atypical for her, was an expression of gratitude and nothing more. That’s all. Neither Bela nor Lisa got attached. It never ended well, and she wasn’t looking for it to begin. Even though this place would really be a good place to start over, she had a feeling that it would only come back to bite her in the ass. Relationships tended to turn her into a fool, and she was not looking to be the latest notch on this man’s belt no matter how sweet he may seem now.
She could use a friend, though. She hadn’t had a friend friend in a while. A friend would be good. A friend might actually be nice.
There was the soft brush against her leg, and she looked down at the growing kitten circling her legs. She gave the cat a small smile before closing the closet door and making her way back into the room, shutting the thoughts out of her mind. She didn’t need a friend. Close relationships would only be an invitation for someone to let her down, and she had enough of that already. She poured herself a long drink and settled onto the couch, the kitten hopping up next to her, and brushing his nose against her fingers.
“I don’t need him,” she said softly to the cat, before giving them a wide smile, brushing the cat’s ears back with her hand. “All I need is you.”

And Xander shall be going to the special hell...
Re: OOC
And he shall? What special hell is that?
Re: OOC
It's the special hell for awkward males who don't think they're ladies men. LOL. Jondy wants him to take her on her first date, and stuff.
