[QT!] Dan Quisenberry quote

“The future is much like the present, only longer.”
She hadn’t expected to survive this long. In fact, she had expected to be in the first wave of casualties. The fact that Sam wasn’t really her friend was no secret to begin with, and she didn’t see how he would have kept her alive for this long after he’d come to power, especially when she didn’t make it seem like she was trying to hide from him. She went about with her business as usual, occasionally making the move to keep her head down, but not really. She was still a thief, and a damn good one at that, and she wasn’t going to let the fact that she may or may not be scared of Sam Winchester and his demon army dictate how she’d react to things like this. She was a business woman, after all—business would go one as usual.
There was that nagging thought in the back of her mind, however, the need to know why he was keeping her alive and what for. Was it that he just enjoyed toying with her? Maybe he needed her for something? She didn’t know, and waking up thinking that this day may possibly be her last, but then again maybe not, was rather nerve wracking. She hated it. She’d prefer to know if she was being kept here to do something for him, rather than living in fear thinking that he was playing with her. She’d never admit to the fear, but it was there, and she really didn’t want to spend years upon years of this—she had already, and it hadn’t exactly been the greatest time she’d ever been through. She wanted this to end, but apparently Sam wanted her to have a future. A future like this, and that wasn’t something she was fond of in the slightest. She wanted to be free of this. She wanted to either be able to do her job without looking over her shoulder, or just die already.
She’d like to think she had suffered long enough.
