[QT!] Mohinder Suresh quote

[Follows THIS post. Also, totally not binding on a Bobby, but if one will like to play, he's more than welcome to.]

“The sun rises on a new dawn. Yet few of us realize the debt we owe to those responsible for this. To those who dwell among us. Anonymous, seemingly ordinary, whom destiny brought together to heal, to save us, from ourselves.”

The sun came up as she was driving back to New York. Her hands were shaking on the wheel, and she was constantly looking over her shoulder, half-expecting for the hellhounds to pop out and pounce on her the soonest chance they got. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust them—well, Ruby was up to question—demon and all, but she had no reason to doubt Elle at this point. Still, she kept anticipating something going wrong. She hadn’t handled this herself, so there was always the chance of things going faulty.

Then again, her track record made it clear that she hadn’t handled things so well herself. She had been floundering as her window of opportunity had been smaller, and if she had any faith at all in Dean and Sam, she probably would have gone to them, or Bobby even. But she didn’t like being in anyone’s debt, and she thought she could handle things herself. Regardless of how wrong she was, at least she had dug her own grave, and not had someone else did it for her. Trust wasn’t something she gave away easily, and it certainly wasn’t going to be given to two men who have more often hindered than helped her.

Let alone two women who, not only had she never met before, but she was pretty sure they already hated her considering some of her prior offenses—namely shooting Sam. Not that she was surprised that people we harping on that particular subject, she was sure that shooting Sam was not a regular occurrence in the Winchesters’ social circle. Sam was the mediator—the negotiator. Dean was the one who probably was riddled with more bullet holes for reasons more mediocre then what Bela had shot Sam for.

She pulled into the parking garage a few minutes later, leaving her bags and anything else nonessential behind and quickly making her way into her apartment. She wanted a drink. She wanted some sleep. She hoped that whatever this device was, wasn’t going to impair her ability to drink. Even if it was, it probably wasn’t going to stop her anyway, and if she wound up dying because of some kind of interaction, again, it would be her own doing, not someone else’s.

She finally arrived home, the first time she had been there in months. It was somewhere familiar and safe—not safe from everyone, of course, but safe enough for her purposes. Her cat wound around her ankles lightly as she moved through the room. It was home—as much of a home as she would allow herself, considering she was never there. She made her way over to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of whiskey (well, several glasses) before starting to make her way around the room. There were several items there, things that were left over from deals that were broken or that she hadn’t made yet, and—she wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. True, she could probably sell them, put them back on the market and make herself some money, but in the situation she was in (and possibly from the alcohol), she felt like there was another way she should take this.

She certainly couldn’t contact the Winchesters—that wasn’t allowed in the terms of her deal. She wasn’t sure of Bobby was included in that deal, but if anyone could take care of these things for her, as some estranged gesture of gratitude. She certainly wasn’t leaving the business anytime soon, but she could do at least this much. Placing her glass down on the counter, she quickly made her way around the room, gathering the items together before she lost her nerve and decided to just take the money instead. Because that would certainly defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it.

I’ve boxed up some relics and objects I have lying around that were lacking a buyer and sent them to you. I figured you could find some way to take care of them. There is a list of what is enclosed in the box.

If you need anymore information let me know.

It was because of Jo and Ellen that Bobby even had a computer, the internet, and e-mail. Jo had taken to showing Bobby the wonders of researching online. Though it wasn't until Sam had shown Bobby years ago how to increase the font size on the screen that Bobby actually used the damn thing.

Taking a break from watching Sam mourn over Dean... damn, this was too familiar and he would kill the boy before he tried to pull a stupid ass deal like Dean had... he went to go find something to eat. And since the place had free computers with an internet connection, he decided to check and see if he had anything. To take his mind of... yeah.

E-mails were rare, and usually boring crappy advertisements about some porno site or another. Sometimes a message from Jo or Ellen about where they were. But seeing Bela's address in the inbox was unexpected.

So there was going to be a package waiting for him when he got home, huh? That might be interesting to thumb through. While he might not like Bela all that much (especially after the stealing of the colt) he did know she had some nice talent for aquiring things.

But one thing was nudging at the edge of his mind. Something that the boys had recently told him.

Aren't you supposed to be dead?

The last week and a half had kept him just a bit preoccupied with finding a last minute way to keep Dean alive. You can't be expected to keep up with e-mail when someone's life is at stake.

The e-mail popped up while he was finishing his sandwich and he frowned. There was just something that wasn't right about all this in his mind.

Change of plans? How do you change your plans when it comes to dying, Bela? Unless you're sitting in a salt mine that just happens to have internet connection.

As he waited to see if a response would come back in a few minutes, Bobby wondered if that would have actually works - tossing Dean into the center of a salt mine.

Ruby and Elle. Why of all the people on God's green earth did it have to be THOSE two involved? And obviously Bela was also unaware of Dean's fate. Could anything else go more wrong that it already had?

Don't have to worry much about me telling Dean. If you haven't heard the news, his contract expired.

Course, Sam will find out eventually - and I ain't gonna be a part of this when that happens. You might just wish that the hellhounds took you.

Obviously you don't know these boys that well. Just keep your head above water this time, Bela. Looks like some people made a big sacrifice for you. Don't be wasting their efforts.

I'll let you know if there's something in the box I haven't heard of.
