[QT!] George Mallory quote
“Because it was there.”
“You goin’ to tell me why you’re not dead yet?”
“Can we just go already?” Bela was annoyed. She was sure that he could hear it in her voice, and that should have been sign enough that he should get a move on and stop asking questions she wasn’t going to tell him the answer to. Brendan came down the stairs and gave her a small grin, before adjusting the suit jacket he was wearing slightly.
“I think I should get a lil more outta this then some kinda cut, luv,” he said with a small smile, and she rolled her eyes before making her way out of the house, sliding her bag under her arm as she went. “Oh, c’mon, Bela, you gotta know people are gonna be a little curious.”
“If you don’t come now, I’m going to do the job without you, and you won’t get any cut at all,” she shot back over her shoulder. She paused at the door, placing her hand on the handle and glancing back at him and raising her eyebrows in his direction. He just smirked back at her, sliding his hands in his pants pockets and staying where he was. She gave him a look, and turned around, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Well?”
“You’re not goin’ anywhere without me and you know it. You can’t get that sword without me and you know it.”
“Brendan, can we just get this job done without dealing with the fact that I’m still walking?” she said, giving him an exasperated look. “I’ve kept my client waiting long enough already.”
“Alright, alright, luv,” he sighed, starting to head out after her. “I’ll finish playin’ twenty questions later.”

“There she is,” he said softly as they wandered into the display room where the sword was sitting. The silver blade was the crown jewel of the room, sitting in the middle of all the other displays, bright spotlights shining onto it, causing your eye to be drawn to it from the moment you entered the room. And it was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
It was encased in glass with a wired security system, probably one of the toughest systems that Bela had ever seen applied to something like this. She threw her eyes over his shoulder, glancing around at the other faces in the room, before moving closer, letting her hand rest on his shoulder lightly. “Do you think it’s the genuine article?” she murmured, turning her attention back to the sword.
“As I said, luv,” he sighed back. “I won’t know till I get m’ hands on it.”
“So it’s going to take even more time to figure this out.” He had kept her waiting for months already for the opportune moment to get a look at this, and if she was going to have to wait even longer now, she certainly wasn’t going to be happy with the situation.
“Not as long as ya think,” he said with a slight frown. “A few weeks from this point. I’ll try to get it done for ya as soon as possible, don’t worry.”
“I’m going to hold you to that, Bren.”
“Oh, sweetheart, I wouldn’ expect anything less.”

ooc
I started thinking about the new season without her last night. It made me so sad.
Talk to me if you get unbusy, I'm bored :(
