[TM] What have you forgotten?

[Set in Winchester Initiative. Ruby is [livejournal.com profile] ilove_atallman and mine to use and abuse. Sam referenced is [livejournal.com profile] likely_evil. Everyone else is an NPC.]

“Sam’s going to kill you.”

Bela looked up from where she had Ruby trapped in the middle of the warehouse, and tilted her head to the side curiously. “You went back to blond. I like it, it suits you better.” Ruby’s eyes watched her back, sharp and cautious, as she crossed the room, moving to sit next to the little boy in the corner of her room. He was sitting reading on the floor, looking absolutely innocent, but Bela knew that Ruby could tell just by looking at him that there was far more than that. The power radiated off him in tidal waves, rolling out in all directions with him at the epicenter. And she was proud. So proud of her little boy.

It had been hard to manage at first, finding a meat that was eligible, one that she could put up with the yelling for while she did what she needed to do, but it was worth it in the end. In the end, she had her beautiful baby boy. The boy that was going to bring Sam to his knees, and all without a second thought. He was about ten now, still too young to do what she needed to do, but he was loyal and he loved her, and she wasn’t going to let anything happen to him.

She’d die before she’d let that happen, and Heaven help the man who caused it if she did.

Ruby’s eyebrows went up a bit at that, and she crossed her arms in front of her, staring Bela down as she sat next to William, stroking the boy’s hair lightly. “I tell you Sam’s going to kill you and you want to talk about my hair? Have you officially lost it?”

“Not at all,” she said softly. “I just know if Sam kills me it’ll be the last thing he ever does.” William looked up at her with a dark look.

“Mom, I don’t like her.”

“Don’t worry, darling. I don’t like her either. She’ll be going away soon.”

Ruby’s eyes widened a bit. “Going away where?”

“Oh, now Ruby—don’t make me ruin the surprise.” She pushed herself up again, making her way over to the edge of the trap and looking Ruby in the eye. “That’ll take all the fun out of it.”

“What is he, Bela?”

“Oh, like you haven’t already figured it out,” she smirked, crossing her arms in front of her chest and leaning in closer. “He scares you, doesn’t he? All that power in such a tiny, easily swayed little boy.”

Ruby’s eyes shifted from her to the boy again, and Bela could see the look of almost longing in his eyes. It was for her own son, now fully grown and fighting alongside his father. He would meet his own end soon enough, but for right now, Bela was focusing on Sam’s right hand.

“After all Sam and Dean did for you, this is how you’re going to make this end? Don’t you remember any of it, or did Hell burn it out of you completely?”

Bela’s lips curled up in a cat-like grin. “What they did for me? Oh, honey—those boys did absolutely nothing for me.”

“They saved your life!”

“And then they threw me to the dogs,” she glared right back at her, before stepping away from the trap and turning back to William. “Darling, do me a favor. Send her back where she belongs, won’t you?”

William glanced at her, before rolling his eyes and looking over at Ruby. It was barely a second before she was flowing out of her body in dark plumes of smoke and heading straight for the floor and going right through.

The meat she was wearing dropped to the ground, and Bela smiled, before reaching over and taking her son’s hand in hers. “Come on, William. Let’s go home.” There was the sound of engines getting closer, and she gripped his hand tighter as they disappeared from view.
